Brandon Bollig, who won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2013, officially announced his retirement from professional hockey Wednesday night.
Bollig signed with the Blackhawks after his sophomore season at St. Lawrence University in 2010. He spent the majority of four seasons with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, and appeared in four games in the Blackhawks’ first-round playoff series against the Coyotes.
Bollig made the Blackhawks’ lineup on a more permanent basis in 2013, and skated in five playoff games that spring en route to Chicago winning its second championship in three years.
