Denis Savard has been all things for the Chicago Blackhawks.
He’s been a player, an assistant coach, a head coach and an ambassador. On Wednesday, he’ll add another honor to that list. He’ll receive the Stan Mikita Lifetime Achievement Award during the Chicagoland Hall of Fame ceremony.
Savard took some time earlier this week to talk about the award, his relationship with Mikita, his past and present roles with the Blackhawks, watching Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews develop since he coached them, his high regard for Joel Quenneville as a coach and Steve Larmer as a player and much more.
