The calendar flipped to October on Monday, which means it's officially hockey season. That's not the only good news coming out of Chicago.
Corey Crawford practiced with the Blackhawks for the first time in more than seven months and has been medically cleared to play from his concussion, which has sidelined the 33-year-old goaltender since Dec. 23, 2017.
"That was good," Crawford said. "Able to get a few shots and I felt pretty good for the first time. I don’t know. We’ll just go from there but it was a good start."
Aside from a few built-in off days, Crawford has skated one hour before practice every day during training camp working on drills with goaltending coach Jimmy Waite.
