Corey Crawford was the first Chicago Blackhawks player to appear on the ice Friday at MB Ice Arena for the first day of the team’s training camp. But he wasn’t joined by teammates, at least not right away.
The Chicago goaltender, who missed the majority of last season with a head injury after taking a puck to the head in late December, went through a 30-minute individual workout with goaltending coach Jimmy Waite an hour before the rest of the team practiced. Crawford worked on his puck handling, footwork, lateral movement and even took shots from Waite.
