Between 2010 and 2015, the Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings dominated the NHL. During that period, the Blackhawks won three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015) while the Kings took home the big mug in 2012 and 2014. In an era where salary-cap constraints and parity among teams made consecutive championships rare, those two clubs were the closest things to dynasties in recent league history.
Fast-forward to 2018 and there's no more dynasty talk surrounding the Blackhawks and Kings. With their glory days fast receding, both franchises are in decline.
Since winning their last championship, the Blackhawks suffered consecutive opening-round playoff eliminations and missing the postseason in 2018.
