Chicago may need to include Hinostroza to unload Hossa’s contract to Arizona.

The Chicago Blackhawks are “working on a deal” to send forwards Marian Hossa and Vinnie Hinostroza to the Arizona Coyotes, reports Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

The move would free up salary cap room from Hossa’s contract, which carries a little more than $1 million per year. The 39-year-old Hossa missed the 2017-18 NHL season due to a progressive skin disorder, meaning he’s allergic to his hockey equipment.

The Hawks could place Hossa on long-term injured reserve like they did last season, but it looks like Chicago general manager Stan Bowman prefers a trade.
