The Chicago Blackhawks announced their second trade of the off-season. The Blackhawks have traded Andrew Shaw to the Montreal Candadiens for the 39th and 45th pick in the 2016 NHL draft. While Coach Joe Quennevile stated early on in the off-season that Shaw was irreplaceable, the Blackhawks were forced to trade Shaw.

The writing was on the wall earlier today as reports started to come out on Shaw’s contract demands. TSN’s Bob McKenzie stated that Shaw was looking for a deal with annual value of 4.5 million per year at 4-5 years.
