The Chicago Blackhawks look for their fourth Stanley Cup of the decade when the 2016-17 season opens on Oct. 12 at the United Center. Between then and June, the team will see its ups and downs as it works to finish this season as successfully as 2010, 2013 and 2015.
One of the challenges will be a much, much different lineup than two years ago. The Hawks have turned over much of their lineup due to salary cap maneuvering and are breaking in several rookies this fall. There’s still optimism the group can jell over the course of the regular season, but they’re no sure thing.
