The Chicago Blackhawks announced two roster moves today, recalling defenseman Erik Gustafsson from the Rockford IceHogs and placing Marcus Kruger on long-term injured reserve. Kruger is expected to be out until April after having wrist surgery.
The moves leave the Blackhawks with $665,707 in cap space per GeneralFanger.com. This is Gustafsson’s second stint with the Blackhawks, previously spending time with the team from October 30 until November 12. He recorded three assists in his six games with the Blackhawks. Gustafsson during his first stint with the Blackhawks averaged 13:44 minutes of ice time while Duncan Keith was injured.
