Chicago Blackhawks Place Morin, Tropp On waivers

The Chicago Blackhawks have waived forwards Jeremy Morin and Corey Tropp, according to NBC Chicago’s James Neveau.

Morin and Tropp came along with Artem Anisimov and Marko Dano in the Brandon Saad trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Neither player had a great chance at making the roster.

Tropp, 26, has played 148 games in the NHL for the Buffalo Sabres and Blue Jackets. He primarily played on the fourth line and scored one goal on seven assists in 61 games with the Jackets last season. Morin’s second stint in Chicago was brief. Morin was traded to Columbus midway through the 2014-15 season for defenseman Tim Erixon.
