Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman put everyone on notice in his end-of-season press conference last week. He said that only coach Joel Quenneville was safe. Since that press conference, Bowman has fired Mike Kitchen, Quenneville’s longtime assistant coach and confidant. Bowman then slept on it and decided to let go of Ted Dent, Rockford IceHogs head coach.
If you dig a little deeper, Dent was very outspoken against Bowman’s moves with regard to the IceHogs. Dent would apologize to fans on Twitter after Spencer Abbott, Sam Carrick and Mark McNeill — the team’s leading scorers — were traded.
