After playing masterfully against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, backup goaltender Scott Darling was ruled out of tonight’s matchup against the New York Islanders with a upper-body injury.
Darling had won his last four starts in a row after being pressed into service for the sick Corey Crawford. Darling’s injury is not expected to be long term. He might miss tonight’s game and be ready to play Saturday, according to some speculation.
Crawford will return to the net for the first time since Feb. 23. His backup will be Jeff Glass, who recalled to replace Darling on the roster tonight.
