Andrew Desjardins was acquired by the Blackhawks from San Jose Sharks during the 2014-15 season. He provided some fourth line depth and gave the Blackhawks some energy on the fourth line. In 2015, he played a more prominent role on offense for a Blackhawks team that was still searching for a replacement to trading Brandon Saad.
His third year with the Blackhawks was a disappointment. He did not score 1 goal the entire season. His play was frustrating to fans and should have been a disappointment to management.
At one point, people questioned whether Desjardins should be even on the roster.
