During Saturday night’s “Headlines” segment on Hockey Night in Canada, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported the Blackhawks asked Seabrook about waiving his no-movement clause for the right situation, but the defenseman said no.
“The Blackhawks have gone to Brent Seabrook and said would he’d be willing to waive his no-move clause. To this point, he has said, ‘no.’ He loves being a Blackhawk and he does not want to do that. But I think, they might still check around to see the market,” Friedman said.
Seabrook, who turns 34 in April, has five years remaining on his contract after this season that carries a $6.
