Blackhawks' Shaw appears to use gay slur

CHICAGO -- A prominent gay rights group affiliated with the NHL says it plans to reach out to the league after Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw appeared to use a gay slur during a 4-3 playoff loss to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.

Shaw was sent off for interference at 17:56 of the third period. While he was sitting in the penalty box, it looked as if Shaw directed a gay slur toward someone on the ice, and the You Can Play Project said it planned to reach out to the NHL "to assist in an appropriate response.
