Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith underwent successful surgery to repair a meniscal tear in his right knee and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, the team announced Tuesday.
Keith, 32, played through the Blackhawks' last game, a 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday, and was on the ice for 27 shifts and 25:34 of ice time. He has two assists and has averaged 24:21 of ice time in six games this season.
Keith is a two-time Norris Trophy winner and was voted the Conn Smythe Trophy winner after the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup championship run last season.
