The Blackhawks wrapped up preseason play with a 3-1 win over Eisbaren Berlin in front of 14,200 fans at Mercedes-Benz Arena on Sunday. It was their first exhibition game in Europe since Sept. 29, 2009 — exactly 10 years ago — when they battled the ZSC Lions in Switzerland and lost 2-1.
Jonathan Toews, Alex Nylander and David Kampf (empty-netter) each scored for the Blackhawks while Patrick Kane recorded two assists in the victory.
Corey Crawford started the game and was perfect. Lehner, as planned, took over at the midway mark of the second period and allowed only one goal.
