The Chicago Blackhawks traded forward Tommy Wingels to the Boston Bruins for a fifth-round pick before the NHL trade deadline, according to 670 The Score’s Jay Zawaski. His tweet came not long after Sportnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that the two sides were discussing a deal.
Assuming the trade is announced soon, Wingels will provide the Bruins with the same depth that he afforded the Blackhawks. He’s a versatile forward who works hard and seems well-liked in the locker room. This February, he was Chicago’s rep for Hockey Is For Everyone month.
