The Blackhawks have gotten off to slow starts in each of their past four games, where they have been outscored 11-1 in the first period.
In the first two against the Capitals and Lightning, they fought back but it wasn't enough to overcome the hole they had already dug.
In the third game against the Panthers, they rallied back from a pair of two-goal deficits and won in overtime to wrap up a three-game road trip. It was a gutsy, character win away from home for a team that desperately needed something to build on. It doesn't mean much if you can't.
