The Chicago Blackhawks have submitted a qualifying offer for restricted free agent Viktor Svedberg, but did not place one for goaltender Mac Carruth or Drew LeBlanc.
Svedberg, 24, dealt with an early-season injury and was given the opportunity with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League as the season progressed as the Hawks traded defenseman prospects Adam Clendening, T.J. Brennan and Klas Dahlbeck.
Svedberg had three goals and 11 assists in 49 AHL games. The 6-foot-8 defenseman was recalled by the Hawks after the IceHogs lost in the second round of the Calder Cup playoffs and practiced with the Hawks throughout their playoff run.
