The Blackhawks signed prospect Michal Teply to an entry-level contract Friday, he announced on his Instagram before the team’s official announcement.
Teply led all Western Hockey League rookies in points (63), assists (34), power-play goals (12) and game-winning goals (eight) in 53 games with the Winnipeg Ice. His 29 goals tied for first among WHL rookies.
The 18-year-old winger also had five assists in as many games for the Czech national team at the World Junior Championship.
