The Blackhawks signed newly-acquired right-handed defenseman prospect Alec Regula to a three-year entry-level contract worth $897,500 per season Monday.
Regula, who Chicago acquired from the Red Wings in exchange for winger Brendan Perlini in October, has seven goals and 15 points in 14 OHL games with the London Knights this season. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound blue liner has three goals and an assist in four games since the trade.
Chicago was familiar with the 19-year-old Regula having seen him play with fellow Blackhawks prospect Adam Boqvist (2018 first rounder) with London last season.
