Blackhawks sign John Hayden to 2-year contract extension

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward John Hayden to a two-year contract extension worth $750,000 through the the 2019-2020 season, the team announced early Friday morning.

John Hayden will have a $750,000 cap hit on his two-year extension. It is a one-way deal, so he'll make the same if he's in the AHL.

Hayden, 23, scored four goals and 13 points in 47 games this past season. He also tallied 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 24 regular-season games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL, and added three goals in 13 AHL playoff games.
