The 28-year-old defenseman has been placed on waivers to be assigned to AHL Rockford.
The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
ESPN's Scott Powers reports the deal is a one-way, $575,000 contract. The Blackhawks have placed him on waivers, reports TSN's Bob McKenzie. Cumiskey will need to clear waivers in order to be reassigned to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
The 28-year-old is still rehabbing from an injury.
Cumiskey signed a two-way, $400,000 contract last summer with Chicago.
