The Chicago Blackhawks have signed defenseman Cameron Schilling to a two-year contract worth $575,000, reports Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports. It is one-way deal in the second season, meaning he will earn the same salary in the American Hockey League as he would in the NHL.
Schilling, 26, has appeared in six NHL games during parts of the last three seasons. He played four games with the Washington Capitals last season, and spent most of the season with their AHL affiliate the Hershey Bears, where he recorded 18 points in 63 games.
