The Blackhawks took care of two of their pending restricted free agents on Monday by signing goalie Anton Forsberg and forward Tomas Jurco to contracts.
Forsberg, 24, signed a two-year contract with a cap hit of $750,000 per season. He was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in a trade on Friday. He is expected to be the Blackhawks’ No. 2 goalie next season.
“We're very optimistic about the potential for Anton,” Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman said on Friday. “Obviously we like his profile as a goalie. He's a big guy. He takes up a lot of the net.
