1. The Blackhawks were the first to score. With the Hurricanes trying to get the puck out of their defensive zone, Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell stepped up from the blue line and got the momentum going the other way. Vinnie Hinostroza came out with the puck and got it to Marian Hossa in the right circle. Hossa quickly passed to Jonathan Toews to the left of the net and Toews scored easily at 12:13 of the first period.
