Chicago Blackhawks backup goaltender Scott Darling is expected to miss three weeks with an upper-body injury, coach Joel Quenneville said after Friday's 2-1 shootout win over the New York Islanders.
Darling was hurt at the end of Friday's morning skate, Quenneville said.
The Blackhawks recalled Jeff Glass to serve as starter Corey Crawford's backup. Glass, 31, has a 2.62 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in 13 games with Rockford of the American Hockey League.
Chicago pulled within one point of Western Conference-leading Minnesota despite playing without center Artem Anisimov and rookie forward Nick Schmaltz on Friday.
