The Chicago Blackhawks recalled defenseman Viktor Svedberg from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, the team announced Tuesday.
With Michal Rozsival questionable because of a lower-body injury, Svedberg will add some depth on the blue line. Svedberg is now the eighth defenseman on the active roster.
Svedberg, 24, played 15 games earlier this season and registered a goal and an assist. During that time, the 6-foot-8 blue liner, helped the Hawks while Duncan Keith recovered from knee surgery.
Svedberg averaged 17 minutes, 13 seconds of ice time during his stint earlier this season and had a Corsi percentage of 49.
