The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have recalled defenseman Ville Pokka from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and assigned defenseman Viktor Svedberg to Rockford.
Additionally, the Blackhawks have placed defenseman Michal Rozsival on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). The team’s active roster now includes 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.
The Blackhawks open the 2015-16 National Hockey League regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 7 when they host the New York Rangers at 7 p.m. The game can be seen nationally on NBCSN and hear on WGN Radio AM-720, and will feature the raising of the 2015 Stanley Cup championship banner prior to face-off.
