Blackhawks recall Erik Gustafsson, place Marcus Kruger on IR

The Blackhawks announced Monday that they have recalled defenseman Erik Gustafsson from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and placed forward Marcus Kruger on injured reserve.

Kruger, who will likely miss approximately four months, underwent successful surgery earlier this month to repair a dislocation of his left wrist, which he suffered on Dec. 17 in a 4-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Gustafsson, 23, has accumulated 11 points (three goals and eight assists) in 27 games with Rockford this season, which ranks second on the team among defensemen.
