The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Mark McNeill from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL, the team announced Monday. McNeill becomes the latest rookie to get a chance with the big club this season after spending the past two-plus years in Rockford.
The move brings the Hawks' active roster to the maximum of 23 players, including 14 forwards.
McNeill, 22, was drafted by Chicago with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft. He spent his first full season with the IceHogs in 2013-14 and has remained with the team ever since.
