The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned forward Mark McNeill to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, the team announced Wednesday.
McNeill, 22, made his NHL debut at right wing on the fourth line Tuesday at Carolina, registering three hits and one takeaway in 12:44 of ice time. The 2011 first-round pick was recalled Monday and skated in Jiri Sekac's spot, who did not travel with the team due to an illness. McNeill is currently on a six-game point streak in the AHL and has nine goals and 19 points in 29 games for Rockford.
