Philip Holm is leaving the Blackhawks organization to play in Europe after not receiving an NHL call up, the defenseman’s agent told Scott Powers of The Athletic.
The Blackhawks placed Holm, who turned 28 years old on Dec. 8, on unconditional waivers Sunday in order to terminated his contract. He has 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) for the Rockford IceHogs in 30 games this season, his first in Chicago’s organization after signing a one-year, two-way contract Aug. 13. His point total is tied with second-year pro Lucas Carlsson for the most among IceHogs defensemen.
