Chicago Blackhawks prospect Lucas Carlsson was named to Team Sweden’s World Junior Championship roster while fellow prospect John Dahlström was among the final cuts, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced Sunday.
Carlsson has a goal and four assists for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League in 19 games this season. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman has never played in the World Juniors tournament. The Hawks drafted the left-handed blue liner with the No. 110 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Dahlström is in his first season playing North American hockey after being drafted in the second round by Medicine Hat of the Western Hockey League in the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
