The new year came at the perfect time for Chicago Blackhawks prospect Alexandre Fortin.
Fortin had endured a frustrating December and was ready to wave it goodbye. After producing in 12-of-14 games and totaling 19 points to begin the season for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL, Fortin’s offense disappeared in December. He had one point in 10 games over the month.
Like a lot of people, Fortin used the change in year to mark a fresh start. Two-thousand sixteen ended poorly, but he was optimistic the beginning of 2017 would be different.
“I had like a couple days off and just took this time to reboot the computer,” Fortin said by phone on Thursday night.
