Alex DeBrincat is rewriting the record books for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League.
The Chicago Blackhawks prospect scored two goals against the Peterborough Petes on Thursday to surpass Brad Boyes to become the Otters’ all-time leading goal scorer in franchise history with 142 career goals. He’s third all-time in points behind current teammate Dylan Strome (311 counting) and Boyes (309).
DeBrincat, 19, is on a tear this season with 40 goals and 45 points in 42 games this season. He has already tallied back-to-back 100-point seasons that each included 51 goals.
