The Chicago Blackhawks placed forward Tanner Kero on waivers Thursday, reports The Athletic’s Scott Powers and Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
Kero found himself the odd man out in the Hawks’ forward mix after getting some reps earlier in the season. He’s been a healthy scratch for the past 10 games along with Michal Kempny and Jordan Oesterle, and now he’s free for the other 30 teams to claim him over the next 24 hours.
If the forward clears waivers, he’ll likely be reassigned to the AHL.
