The Blackhawks placed prospect Luc Snuggerud on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract after he’s suffered multiple concussions, the team announced Sunday.
Snuggerud played in only 44 AHL games during the last two seasons due to injuries. The 23-year-old had one assist in four games this season with the Rockford IceHogs, and 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 40 games last season.
The Blackhawks signed Snuggerud in March 2017 after his junior season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Chicago drafted him with the 141st overall pick in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL draft.
