The Chicago Blackhawks placed forward Kyle Baun and goaltender Jeff Glass on waivers Friday, reports TVA Sports’ Renaud Lavoie. This is presumably for the purpose of assigning them to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs for the beginning of the upcoming season.
The two players are no longer waiver-exempt, so they’re required to go on waivers before they can be assigned to the AHL. The other 30 teams will have the opportunity to make claims, and the Blackhawks will get nothing in return if a claim occurs.
Baun, 25, spent the past two seasons in Rockford after joining the organization as an undrafted free agent.
