The Blackhawks placed defenseman Duncan Keith and winger Andrew Shaw on injured reserve, retroactive to Nov. 29 and 30, respectively, on Friday.
Keith (groin) and Shaw (concussion protocol) have missed three and two games, respectively. The move to injured reserve only frees up roster spots as Keith has already passed the mandated seven-day window and Shaw will after Chicago’s game Friday against the Devils in Newark, New Jersey. The Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, play the Griffins Friday night in Grand Rapids, Michigan then host the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday in Rockford.
