Blackhawks place Brandon Saad on injured reserve with right ankle injury

The Blackhawks placed forward Brandon Saad on injured reserve Saturday, retroactive to Thursday, Dec. 19 with a right ankle injury.

Saad sustained the injury Thursday when his right leg twisted underneath him after he was checked into the boards by Jets defenseman Luca Sbisa in the second period. Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton said after the team’s 4-1 win that the forward will be out “couple of weeks.”

Timeframe hasn't changed. I asked if two weeks meant he could be playing in two weeks or if he'd be evaluated in two weeks, and Colliton wouldn't rule out that he could be playing.
