ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Blackhawks had power-play proficiency in the opening minutes, the Ducks physical play and pressure late through the first and all through the second.
Then it started getting interesting: the great goaltending stops, the shots off the posts and crossbars, the disallowed head-butted goal and, of course, a few overtimes. And when it ended, the Blackhawks, who hadn’t scored since early in the first period, finally got another one.
Marian Hossa scored one of the power-play goals and Marcus Kruger scored the winner at the 16:12 mark in triple overtime as the Blackhawks beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 on Tuesday night.
