Marian Hossa’s excitement was palpable, and understandably so.
The veteran right wing had been thinking about that 500th career regular-season goal for some time, and it looked like he might have been pressing a bit as he pursued it.
Well, the chase is over, and Hossa has another milestone.
Hossa scored that 500th career goal with three seconds on the Blackhawks’ power play in the team’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night. The goal, which Hossa scored at 5:04 in the second period, gave the Blackhawks a 4-0 lead at the time. Hossa celebrated and immediately headed to the Blackhawks’ bench, where teammates congratulated him.
