Tim Söderlund will start his 2020-21 season in his native Sweden playing for Almtuna IS in Allsvenskan, the country’s second division.
The Blackhawks loaned the undersized (5-foot-9, 163 pounds) forward prospect to Almtuna IS on Tuesday for him to play games before Chicago’s NHL training camp begins, which could be in late November.
Söderlund, a 2017 fourth-rounder, joins Kings forward Johan Södergran (2018 sixth) and Red Wings defenseman Gustav Lindström (2017 second) as NHL prospects on loan to Almtuna IS.
The 22-year-old had three points (one goal, two assists) in 29 AHL games for the Rockford IceHogs and six points (two goals, four assists) in seven ECHL games for the Indy Fuel in his first professional season.
