The Blackhawks have expressed interest in re-signing forward Dale Weise, according Weise’s agent.
“There is interest, but not sure what they will have cap-room wise,” Weise’s agent Allain Roy wrote in a text on Wednesday.
The Blackhawks acquired Weise and Tomas Fleischmann from the Montreal Canadiens for Phillip Danault and a 2018 second-round draft pick in February. Weise had one assist, a 54.3 Corsi percentage and averaged 9:57 of ice time in 15 regular-season games for the Blackhawks. He scored one goal and averaged 8:24 of ice time in four playoff games.
Weise, 27, signed a two-year, $2.
