The Blackhawks could be headed outdoors for a record seventh time for the 2021 Winter Classic against the Wild at Target Field in Minneapolis, reports Greg Wyshynski of ESPN. Michael Russo of The Athletic also reported things are “trending in the right direction” for the announcement of Minnesota hosting the annual New Year’s Day outdoor game in three weeks.
Wyshynski also listed the Avalanche, Blues and Jets as potential opponents for the Wild, who defeated the Blackhawks 6-1 in a 2016 Stadium Series game at TCF Stadium in Minnesota.
