Blackhawks impending White House visit fuels light-hearted jab at Ted Cruz

The Chicago Blackhawks will make their third trip to the White House tomorrow, Feb. 18.

Every NHL team gets the chance to go to Washington D.C. at least once throughout the season. That's what happens when there's a team based in the nation's capital, after all.

But only one team gets to visit the White House: last season's champions. And what good timing it's been for the Chicago Blackhawks to go on their own little dynasty of sorts, when there's a Chicago sports fan in office.

The Hawks will be making the trip tomorrow, following their game in New York against the Rangers tonight, with three days off before they're supposed to head to Minnesota to take on the Wild.
