Blackhawks hopeful depth scoring will emerge this season

The Chicago Blackhawks struck out again in an attempt to add another goal scorer to their lineup.

After missing out on college free agent Jimmy Vesey last week, the Blackhawks were unable to sign free agent Jiri Hudler this week. Hudler has agreed to a one-year, $2 million contract with the Dallas Stars, according to reports. It was previously reported he had been considering the Blackhawks.

Hudler may not be a superstar, but he does have a proven record of scoring goals. He has averaged 14 goals and 0.82 goals per 60 minutes in 5-on-5 situations the past three seasons.
