Corey Crawford suffered his second known concussion in less than a year during the first period of the Blackhawks’ 7-3 loss to San Jose on Dec. 16 in Chicago.
Crawford made six saves on eight shots before leaving at 18:30 of the first period with a concussion following a collision in net. He was hit by friendly fire as teammate Dylan Strome was pushed into him by Evander Kane, who served a goaltender interference penalty for the play.
Crawford left the game and did not return. He was replaced by Cam Ward, who allowed five goals on 35 shots.
